Anna

Shamalova-Kobeleva

Anna Shamalova-Kobeleva, born in Moscow in 1992, is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges tradition and contemporary expression. A graduate of Moscow State University’s Faculty of Arts, she specialized in fine arts, honing her skills in oil painting, digital art, mosaics, wood painting, and textile embroidery.

My work is centered around the human form—an endless source of inspiration for me. I am drawn to painting portraits, especially of children, because I want to capture the fleeting nature of their growth, the rapid passage from childhood to adulthood. For me, this period of life is sacred, and through my paintings, I seek to honor its beauty, innocence, and transformation.

Beyond portraiture, I find equal meaning in still-life's, landscapes, and figurative compositions, each celebrating the power of a single moment.

I am fascinated by the imperfect yet perfect nature of the human body — the curves, the lines, the way it moves and rests. A yoga asana, the folds of fabric, the shape of a piece of fruit —these everyday details hold an extraordinary presence.

I paint them simply because they bring me joy. A table set with fruits and vegetables, jars of pickles gleaming in the light — I capture them in oil on canvas as an act of appreciation, a way of preserving their quiet significance.
